Biomimetic Restorations & Safe Amalgam Removal
At Reclaim Integrative Dentistry & Implant Center, we specialize in the safe removal of silver amalgam fillings and the minimally-invasive restoration of teeth using biomimetic, biocompatible materials. Traditional silver amalgams contain approximately 50% mercury, which can release vapors during chewing or brushing. Proper removal using strict biological protocols is essential to minimize exposure and protect your overall health.
Once amalgams are safely removed, we restore teeth with ceramic or composite materials designed to mimic natural tooth structure. These biomimetic restorations not only enhance aesthetics but also strengthen teeth, preserve healthy structure, and reduce the likelihood of future dental complications.
Benefits to Treatment:
Natural, Aesthetic Results
Tooth-colored restorations are carefully matched to your natural teeth for a seamless, beautiful smile.
Preservation of Healthy Tooth Structure
Biomimetic techniques require less removal of healthy tooth structure, helping maintain the strength and integrity of the tooth.
Long-Lasting Strength & Stability
Bonded restorations reinforce the tooth, reducing cracking, sensitivity, and the risk of future damage.
Whole-Body, Biological Approach
Treatment follows biological protocols designed to minimize inflammation, reduce toxicity, and support overall wellness.

Safe Amalgam Removal Protocol
We follow a strict, biologically based protocol to safely remove mercury-containing amalgam fillings:
- Teeth are isolated with a rubber dam and liquid seal to prevent mercury exposure.
- High-volume suction and a DentAirVac system capture mercury vapor and particles.
- The doctor and assistant wear charcoal-filtered respirators for added protection.
- Amalgam is sectioned and removed in chunks to minimize vapor release.
Your safety is our top priority. This protocol follows IAOMT guidelines to ensure safe, mercury-conscious care.
